Many people blame the fact that students carry so much debt on how easy it is for young adults to take out large loans so early in life after being pressured.

Should we remove the ability for young adults to take out large loans for education, supplies, housing, etc. so that they can't get into debt so early in life?

Personally, I think massive loans are an excellent tool when used correctly. I don't think they are the issue.

My first job wants me to work at a factory at 5 am

But I got a cna class today... and if I miss 2 days ( which I had missed none ) I have to retake everything

Basically science and genetics - like girls understand the importance of education vs. boys who put more into physical things.

Sooo...12 hours... each day and you get paid $15. I assume that's a weekly check. Must be new and you must work for this long and can't dodge overtime... or have a life.

It used to be the norm around the world to have children work jobs even at 5 years old.

Now, some societies seem to want to keep children away from work until they are well into adulthood at 25-30!

My mother took me to work instead of daycare before kindergarten, so I learned contracting work and fixing up houses by watching and helping her before I was even in school. Farmers, other contractors, and mechanics often do similar things with their children to teach them.

Do you feel children should be working earlier instead of later so they can learn skills and get ahead?

I’ve not made up my mind and am liable to go either way. I’m a custodian at a college. There are no classes tomorrow. We still work, though, which is fine, but I texted my boss to see if I can come in early. He said dress warm we will be shoveling snow and laying salt. My job does not pertain to outside and we even have maintenance men who know the yard during the summer, so why is snow my responsibility? This irks me cause it isn’t in my job description. Also, I live about 30 minutes away and it is snowing a ton and supposed to through the night and into tomorrow. I have time off I could take. What would you do?

Would you pay for your kid (s) college tuition? What's your limit?

I told my kids we would pay for an in state college with reasonable tuition. The limit is about 15k per kid per year for their associates, since they will both be going around the same time. They can live at home or pay their own rent if they live elsewhere. If they want a more expensive college option, they have to pay the difference. If they fail a class they have to pay for it. My husband also plans to use his GI bill on them even though it won't do much.

Part of the reasoning is because our income will likely disqualify them from most financial aid. Otherwise, college here would be nearly free.

If you had a chance to move far away to an area with a better cost of living compared to your salary, giving you the opportunity to build up your finances better, would you?

Would you move for a better job with higher wages?

Would you move to build your net worth, own a house sooner, maybe retire earlier or with more?

the news did a piece on why employers are getting turned off by Gen Z job seekers stating issues with inappropriate dress attire, asking for too much money and (the kicker for me 🤣) bringing a parent to their interview (who does that 🤦🏼‍♀️).

At work, we have team meetings every week where we outline our duties step by step. We were told it was for “process improvement.” The meetings were supposed to end in December. However, it’s been extended until employee merit reviews are done in June.
what should I think of that?
