My man and I are both looking for new jobs. I was offered a better paying job. They didn’t tell me that I’d be on call though until after I signed the acceptance letter. I went to their website and it seemed like they were trying too hard to make people think they were family friendly. They have good reviews but the only people who have reviewed them are union workers who have cushy jobs. When the recruiter called me she said people were ghosting her when she’d reach out to them for an interview. Should I take the job?
Not enough info.
What do you mean by on call? Do you mean you will work regular hours, but may get called at the last minute on your day off? If that is the case, you should try to find out how often this might happen. And what will happen if you have plans, like a weekend trip somewhere.
How good is the pay?
Do you think you'd like the job?
Would you like your co-workers (have you met any).
Will you get good experience? (one of the most important things on a job)
Is there room for advancement? (at that company or a different company)
What is the work environment?
What alternatives are there?
Is this the only offer?
How long have you been looking?
Ultimately it's up to you.
You need to consider everything.
What does your gut tell you?

It sounds like you have some valid concerns about the job, particularly regarding the on-call aspect and the discrepancy between the company's image and your recruiter's experiences. Consider weighing the pros and cons carefully, including factors like job stability, work-life balance, and personal values. You may also want to reach out to current or former employees for more insights before making a decision.
