So today I had a job interview as a assistant site supervisor. Now, I currently have a job as well. But the interview that I had yesterday was the first job that I really wanted more, and he current job is what I wanted second. The current job is close, and the job that I had the interview is a hour away which is fine with me, and they offer $2 more than what i make now and they have better benefits and etc… I really want this job that interviewed me yesterday. At the end of the interview they sent me a email for references, and orientation. I was planning to tell my current boss/ employer about the job offer they I might get. I kinda also don’t want to leave the job that I’m at. The place where I was interview is also giving me a higher job position which I also wanted where the current did not and I’m pretty much at the bottom of the food chain lmfao. Yes, I know the grass is not always greener on other other side, but it is, how do I know. Well, I work for this place in the past but i had to leave, but left on good terms and had to wait 6 months to re-apply. Now my question is should I ask my current employer if they can offer me the same position so that I don’t have to leave my current job, and let them know that they can also continue paying me what they are now. Mind you, the problem is that I’m on 6 months probation because I’m a new employee which also don’t help, but they said in six months I can apply for a different position but I only been working for the current employer for 2 months. I don’t mind sticking it out and waiting. But the place where I had the interview I feel it better for me and have more opportunities for growth. There are a lot of pros and cons on both jobs. I just wanna know have anyone been in my shoes. Have ur current job ever offer you a better deal if you stayed with them instead of leaving to the new job. Please, I’m stressing a lot over this.
Superb Opinion
I’d say ask your current job about a higher position and see what they say about it. Being assertive and knowing your worth as an employee is important and it also shows that you are interested in growing in the company. If they are iffy -definitely go to the job that you wanted for a while
