Boyfriend called me worthless, should I take this crap from him?

I told him that he is a typical American because he lives paycheck to paycheck. Then he calls me worthless. I haven't had a "real job" for the past few years because of the economy...although I have had jobs that don't pay so well. I can't really contribute to rent because of my situation. He knows this and before he called me worthless he was understanding. So should I put up with this crap?

Side note: we got in a fight a few days before this and he told me he didn't want to have kids with me. Is he emotionally abusive? Should I take this crap?

It sounds like YOU started the while thing. What you said was really rude. Calling him a "typical American" because he lives paycheck to paycheck when you don't even have a real job and can't contribute to anything is f***ed up. What started the whole thing was that he was wanting to get a brand two second motorcycle. Let me give you some more info...he makes 100K a year, I buy all the groceries/things for the house, clean, pack him lunch, cook him dinner but yet he still wants to buy a brand new bike...a brand new second bike. Yet I don't have the right to say that he lives paycheck to paycheck? I have recently just gotten a "real" job but before that I was contributing as much as possible...that's what people do wh

when one person in the relationship falls behind...they are supposed to pick the other person up and help them. I have been on the other end of things as well but yet I didn't call that person "worthless".

Hunny it's HIS f***ing money. He can buy whatever the hell he wants to. Girl you sound crazy, you have no right to tell him he lives paycheck to paycheck and then gets mad when he calls you worthless because you have no job with a significant amount of income. Did you not read above? I do EVERYTHING around the house. I pay for EVERYTHING except rent. In my opinion calling someone worthless and saying someone lives paycheck to paycheck are completely different. But yes, I'm the crazy one.

If you did not read my post I have had a job during this whole time. I have had to work less than decent jobs but I still have a job.

I understand what you meant especially if you two are building a future together. Most people do actually spend more and save less so you probably said that because it is what you observed from him. I don’t think you should take that crap. He thinks that you are not worthy of him. You can’t stay in a relationship with someone who thinks that about you. You need who respects you, your status and understands your situation. You need someone who can see the potential in you and who will encourage you to grow for the better.
