Do you prefer to learn British English or American English?
I’m just curious about what people in general who are learning the English language if they prefer American or British English when learning it and why?

I started with British English, lol... I had no choice; it was English they taught us in high school.
In psychology studies, we had English with an American native speaker, and this was a moment when I fell in love with American English :D
But I suspect now my English is a messy mix of both, lol...
I learnt English by reading fan fiction so mix of British American and foreigner English
i prefer British English easier to understand when spoken i can’t for the life of me understand American accent no matter how hard i try, British accent is much easier except those from the northern part
We got no choice but had to learn Oxford British English, but its nice and clean.
American English is just too generic.
British is just a new taste.

If you're learning it's best to learn both as you'll encounter both a lot in real life. I wouldn't worry too much about spellings but more about being aware of definitions eg biscuit v cookie, jam v jelly, crisp v chip
English is my first language but i'm fully bilingual. My English is British english- my English not my accent as I'm from Southern Africa. I now live in the US, I still pick British English
I'm British and it is probably because it is natural for me lol. Americans got really lazy with their English
How so?
They cut a lot of words in half and just prounce it weirdly
That’s ironic.. considering so many letters are left out in British in almost every single word
Few examples
wot =what
Had=hard
Weid = weird
Wateva= whatever
Of cos = of course
Etc etc list is endless lol
If your reason is the one you gave above then British definition the cake on lazy unless you have another reason 😄
No one talks like this anymore lmao
they prefer n need "murican" English.
English is my third language and I chose to take the ECPE exam (Michigan) .
Most will learn brit English. Also aussie English is just brit English, the only real difference is the slang
American English
