Do you like the situation you are in? What are the pros and cons? What is your dream?

i think there is a balance to find in life between job/money security and… feeling alive, in control of your own destiny. I’m sure many people would argue you can feel this way when working for a big corporation but it’s restricting your freedom in so many ways… I would tend to disagree…

What’s your view?

As in for example colleagues or roommates. What solutions do you have for this? Would you still try talking to them or would you give up?

I can’t sit still & I have very high endurance so getting stuck at a desk will not only be painful but quite a waste of Human Resources. However, I want to be challenged intellectually & if possible be physically active whilst putting my analytic & rhetoric skills to good use…

Al Pacino did make law look very physically demanding on screen but I don’t think that’s how it works irl 😂

Maybe that’s just what everyone wants and I’m just part of the club and it’s a rare find…I figure I probably would’ve thought of it by now if it existed but I don't know I’m not necessarily creative in career matters. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I NEVER take work home with me. Once I leave my building that’s it, anything that wasn’t finished stays there until I resume it the next day.

I always get my shit done so I don’t rlly care 😂

I worked very very hard at so many things and people got jealous and abused me for it because they thought my achievement was due to high intelligence and not due to hard work so they tried to equalize things by denying, ignoring, dismissing and mistreating me to punish me for what I did. As an example, I was banned from sharing my poetry with the group cause they thought my writing was too good and thought my high intelligence gave me an unfair advantage over low intelligence people but my good verbal skills are a result of my hard work and training. I wasn't born with it. English used to be my worst subject in school.

I now make about $80,000

My dad knows a guy who got an MBA in his 50s and later managed a hedge fund with 200 managers working under him in China. The guy in his 60s or 70s decides to climb the Grand Canyon with his wife, they started from the bottom and spent 8-14 hours mountain climbing up hill in one day. I'm not even sure I can do more than 2 hours uphill and I'm in my 30s. I think that crazy work ethic is how he managed to earn so much money, my dad says the guy has a genius IQ but this guy isn't just smart, he also works very very hard.

My manager is a very passive person, and my coworker is dominant and extroverted. During every meeting, my coworker talks 90% of the time. Her contributions are valuable, but I cannot get a word in edgewise. Also, because she has such a competitive personality, I know if I say something, it will likely result in us butting heads.

My manager doesn’t seem to care. She just sits there and lets my coworker go on and on and on.. my coworker has talked over me, bossed me around, and belittled me in front of my manager and I am getting no support.

I just had a review and my manager said that I’m doing a great job and there’s nothing I can improve on. So I know she likes me as an employee. But I don’t understand why she doesn’t support me.
I’m wondering if she expects me to push back? But then our team dynamic will be a mess because my coworker will see it as a competition.

is it my responsibility to be more assertive with my coworker, or my managers?

Let’s assume for sake of this question your salary will be approx 130,000$ / year (that’s actually higher average of psychologist. Lawyers make slightly less on average than psychologists which was a surprise to me. Actors I know will make not much most often, tho or for a few lucky a TON more than 130K, so I’m just evening it out for the question)

To me, these professions altho holding very different functions in society, require overlapping traits tools & specific skill set. That is why I am grouping them together.

I started a new job two days ok. They have thrown me right in at the deep end. On my first day they kept leaving me alone to answer phone calls even though I didn’t know the protocol or script that is used. The two other women that were supposed to be in my department training me took their lunches at the same time and left me there. I then made a mistake with a customer & she one of the women had the cheek to pull me up on it. As if I was supposed to be a psychic and know all protocol without being trained.

In any other job I have been in, I have always been trained and eased into the job. Im feeling really overwhelmed now. It’s a great job so near to home & good pay but I feel like I am being took advantage of already. I turned down 3 other jobs because this one seemed great. The other two women just seem happy there is someone to dump the workload on.

What would you do? Stick it out, pull them up on it, or just walk away now? I feel coming into the busy period it will get worse.
