Do you like the situation you are in? What are the pros and cons? What is your dream?
i think there is a balance to find in life between job/money security and… feeling alive, in control of your own destiny. I’m sure many people would argue you can feel this way when working for a big corporation but it’s restricting your freedom in so many ways… I would tend to disagree…
What’s your view?
I work for a big company, I am actually in the office right now though I usually work from home since covid, we all do. I don't actually know why I am here. I like the people I work with but my job is kind of a random assortment of tasks and projects, my title is "project coordinator" but it's kind of like I just do whatever nobody else has time to do, tbh I am here because my dad has worked here my whole life and said I should try it, and once I got here I got comfortable and it's pretty good pay and benefits so I have built a lot of savings (I barely spend anything since my fiance pays for most stuff so nearly all of my pay becomes savings for us). Most people I work with are a lot older than me and treat me like a niece or granddaughter or something so, I like the people but it is not my dream job, what I really want to do is become a kindergarten teacher (or maybe elementary school), I know pay is not very good but I think I would find it more fulfilling.
I am employed by a company, but I am a shareholder/partner. My husband is self-employed. The pros for him of being self-employed is flexibility for our family needs. The cons is that he doesn't really get to shut his brain off as early as he would like in the day, and sometimes on the weekend. The pros for me being employed through a business/firm is a salary and benefits. The cons are the lack of flexibility at times, and for me personally the amount of travel.
I work for a company and by choice do a lot of overtime. For me, this is the best job I had. I tried self employed (had my own mechanic shop for 2 years) and it didn't work out. I didn't have enough clients.
Pros: constantly working. I like working with my hands. Every day is halfway different. The pay is great. Gaining knowledge
Cons: long hours and long drive.
My dream: debt free (almost there). Have a nice place, a wonderful woman and possibly a family (might be too late lol).
I'm doing both but my boss is getting ready to retire and he wants to close down the shop so I started soliciting doing side jobs for myself and just by Word of Mouth everything's taken off I just want to be set up so when he does say it's dead and over that I still have lots of work

I'm a forensic scientist for our area police authority... And although I am at present on maternity leave, I absolutely love my job.
I certainly enjoy being my own boss and also being the majority shareholder of the corporations I don't fully own.
I own a corporation for which I work, and which currently employs thirteen other people.
I work for Kroger's Fuel station. And I'll just say this it's a job.
Self emp. Nice to write your own schedule but comes with a lot of disadvantages. The govt wants regular people to be corporate drones.

Beyond that the freedom only con is less money that most people

Self-employed. I don't like the idea of being an employee - too controlling.
Company so I have a steady osy check cuz most construction jobs are only done during good weather

I work for a big corporation. I feel no restrictions. I work 3 days 12hrs and off 4..
Combination. I'm a consultant but I work for other organizations.
