Halloween "II" : Movie Review

Well,hello everyone.

It’s me again.

A few days ago I went to see the 2018 new movie,Halloween which is basically the sequel of an old extremely famous horror.

So I decided to write a review about it since the American Halloween is coming up!

WARNING ⚠️ - SPOILERS

Basically the the story starts many years after the original Halloween movie and it shows the life of both Michael Mayers (the mental serial killer we all know and love) and the only survivor of the murder tragedy Laurie.

The movie shows that neither of the two has moved on from that terrible night, even though Laurie had kids and two failed marriages she is still obsessed with Michael...And Michael that hasn’t spoken in 40 years and is in a mental institution... Stil has his killer tendencies, especially towards Laurie and her family.

The actors that play in the sequel are mostly the same with those who play in the first movie and I think that’s the best part.

The movie was the definition of Karma

might be late, burn it’s still a bitch.

It had many small but nice plot twists that made the movie much more interesting.

Not gonna lie though, it was kindaaaa....uh...spluttery?

Like

One in everything two scenes was about a head breaking against a wall...

Lmao, the irony is though that Michael killed more people in one night after he escaped jail than the night that got him into mental institution.

Okay, Okay enough with the talking, let’s go to my review...

I’ll give this movie a :

8/10

It was fun to watch and brought many memories back ..recommended,at least from me.

Though, to be completely honest here, I believe that Michael Mayers is still alive...Especially thinking that he supposedly survived one fire already...

All joking aside, good review. I thought it was a good slasher lots of gory killing, great musical score and good acting. Fans of hardcore horror probably won't like it all that much though because it wasn't all that scary and tended to break that tension a lot with jokes.

Pros:
- Really does Micheal justice, potrays him as this invincible monster that will just kill anything which really made me feel powerless as the viewer.
- It was intresting to see how Laurie was so paranoid about Micheal and how that impacted her relationships and the people around her. It was also a nice twist seeing that all her preparation wasn't for nothing and getting to see her daughter and grandaughter's reaction to the fact that she was right and Myers was still a threat.

Cons:
-Suffers from a lot of problems typical to horror movies. Has predictable jumpscares and pretty big plotholes just to serve the plot. For example, why were only a few officers sent to protect an entire town againt a superhuman serial killer when they could have easily gotten at least a SWAT team.

-Myers' powers are inconsistent. He is able to move a huge ass table, and crush someone's skull with only his foot but stuggles against Laurie, who at this point is an old woman.

-Plot isn't very intresting and Myers has very little motive for any of his actions other than "he's pure evil" and "he was beat by Laurie once".

Overall I'd agree with you that it's a good movie for those who are a bit more casual with their horror or just looking for a spooky movie for Halloween night, but it has many flaws that stop it from being truly great.

I totally want to see it. I watch all the Halloween movies every year. Aside from three. Four and five don’t do much for me either but I’m excited to see the new one. Might try to go Tuesday.

But is that body still on the side of the road or not? If you think there is an answer or that you have an answer, why do you think what you do? Personally, I think answering the question entirely evades the point of the whole movie, that this is "The Shape" aka "The Bogeyman" and not "some person." Laurie said so to the journalists and also at the dinner party! She did NOT say she saw Michael Meyers - she said she saw "The Shape" - the *original concept of Michael Myers from the original movie, -a unique and brilliant concept abandoned by all other films in the franchise.

Honeslty will not watch this it looks trash makes no sense why he would wait 40years he could of broke out anytime.
Then don't get me started aboit how there forgetting the other films.

I mean if there gonna do a reboot could of done the 1st one again even tho rob zombie and the orignal are great.

8/10? wow, I give it 3.6/10, really.. I think it's bad.

1. We still don't know the reason he killed randomly
2. Basic plot, basic movie. Just some sadistic killing.
3. Too many wrong decisions the characters made! "Stupid! why run to the woods" etc

For a horror movie fans, this is real bad for me.

The studios will keep making installments for these movies forever even if they are bad for 1 reason:

If enough time passes, the studio will lose exclusive rights on a character they created.

So, its refreshing to see that this 11th Halloween movie might be good... because so many of these types of movies (looking at you hell raiser) have TERRIBLE reboots just to keep the rights active

I thought it was the best one since the original. They finally made Michael Myers the ominous, mysterious, otherworldly presence he was in the first movie. Also the soundtrack was soooo goood.

Halloween HAS to be October 31st regardless of region, if Russia has it on a different date it's not Halloween.
Halloween was originally a religious Holiday named Samhain, pronounced Sow-in.
It originated in Ancient Ireland and was brought to the U. S by Irish Immigrants.

After the credits you can hear Michael Myers breathing loudly so I for sure think that he’s alive.
