Hmm, recommending is difficult without a general idea of things you'd like to see. My favourite is Parasyte: the maxim which is a horror-y sci-fi kinda thing, really cool, a little gory. If I remember rigt, it's like 22 or 24 episodes long so it's not something that's huge to start with. I also recommend Code Geass which is kinda an anime must, I think everyone I've spoken to loves it because the storyline is so engaging, you fall in love with the characters and the animation is beautiful. Basically, killer robots and revolution - what's not to like? :P For something that's generally a little lighter (though it has it's heart-breaking moments), I would recommend Haruhi Suzumiya. There's movies as well as a series and it's like a slice of life school story combined with some weird elements like time travel and gods. Much like Code Geass, most people seem to have some praise for it. Characters are loveable and the storyline is a little more happy for the most part, so it's not somethng you're gripped to the edge of your seat watching, it's generally more like a feel-good thing and the humour in it is very entertaining.
@Lopezz1999 Yes, it's amazing! I wouldn't say it's technically the best anime I've ever watched (trophy for that probably goes to Code Geass) but it's still the one I love the most, it's just so interesting, I'm glad you're enjoying it! :)
the problem is only part of it is in anime... so if you want watch the anime and then continue where it left off, in the manga... It is deffinitely worth it. Probaby one of the best shoujo mangas I have ever read... And the authot is such a tease... 249 chapters in and the main lovers are still not aware that their love is mutual :o

You will eventually find you niche. * above is a mix of comedy, drama, sci-fi, action , romance, supernatural.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood if you like serious plotlines, deep character development, diverse and highly intuitive world building, and moral lessons, with kick ass action and lovable characters, this is the anime for you. Mind you, this shit gets SERIOUS.
If you'd rather have a more light-hearted anime with action, Soul Eater is funny and demented.
I really don't know anime that doesn't include action.
I have liked individual shows but as a whole? It's just a style of drawing/art... It's cool and everything but I really just do not understand the general "obsession" that people have with it.
Next he's probably going to tell us his favourite anime and it turns out to be generic\mainstream crap then he'll show us his shit waifu, things can't sink any lower than that (at least I think they can't but he might surprise me)
don't listen to those guys theyll recommend stuff without first asking what you like! What kinds of anime do you watch? Tell me a few so I can pick a genre for you then I can suggest some shows.
