Yes, that is true. Not quite that drastic as it goes in your added picture.

Everything we know comes in through our senses. Through our senses we perceive and understand the world surrounding us.. But who's to say that 'our' senses are right? All we can do is believe in what we understand. But say for instance that we both look at the colour we understand as 'red'. Can we really say that we're looking at the same colour? What if we're actually looking at two different colours entirely, but we've both just learned and accepted that when we look at that same thing (colour) we call it 'red'?
