Because of the depth of the story writing. I wouldn't be crying if the story didn't captivate me enough to make me fall in love with the characters. I love romantic movies and makes me love them even though they might have a sad ending is because of the cute scenes of the couple first getting together, than at the end, one of them dies. I still enjoy watching it because of the interesting way the couples meet and fall in love, which makes one of them dying even more heart-wrenching </3

Because I find the act of crying cathartic. I enjoy tearjerker books too for exactly the same reason.
It seems some amount of emotion just builds up inside me (even though I do express my emotions more than is really socially acceptable). I'd rather let off the pressure and cry during a movie or a book than have the bottled up emotions spill out in public or something

Actually, I cry after watching movies even animes and cartoons lmao and sometimes songs, I get emotional over these things but I don't get emotional over real-life events I don't know why...
I don't like funny or happy ones I watch depressing ones only.
I don't get why people watch some entertainment shit, life isn't even like that.
Maybe because I feel relieved after watching them or maybe because I feel satisfied with my life after knowing what other people around the world are going through!I hate to cry. I never feel better, just worse.
But I do love good stories... real and authentic ones, not sensationalized ones. And just like life, not everything works out in the end, or in all ways, so I take in these stories as well. It's just part of the human experience. We can't feel the highs without the lows.I like it. I watched a movie 6 years ago. the name of the movie is "miracle/mucize" and I don't remember crying so much for the first time in my life.

movie trailerBecause most people are grieving on the inside. It makes them feel like it's okay to cry because they aren't really crying over something that happened in the past but rather the movie scene.
Because they make me feel something lmao. actually just because sometimes i like to cry about non personal things, and usually these movies are pretty good if they can get you to cry.
I don’t. I watch movies for entertainment and laughter. But there has been some where I’m like “😢... oh shit...🙈”
I’m very emotional. They tug at your heart strings.
I'm just impressed by storytelling that makes me feel deeply. Fear, love, tragedy-- talented storywriting moves people.
Because a movie that makes you happy is simply entertainment, but a movie that makes you cry is art ❤️
Because they evoke emotions and feelings from deep within
one of the only movies I've cried at is The Good Dinosaur and if you've seen that you know why people cry.
I cry involuntarily sometimes during emotional scenes and it is very embarrassing for me
Not completely sure lol
