I sure hope so! There's too much "reality" already. This whole."keeping it real" creed is killing childhood. Children need magic and imagination. To dream the impossible, to become well rounded. There must be a touch of whimsy, I think we've lost that in our society. And fairytales often have an underlying lesson in them, be kind to strangers, don't harm creatures unnecessarily, don't wonder off into the woods by yourself, etc.
Without imagination there is no innovation. It takes looking at the world differently to come up with new ideas. Later we can teach that it takes action to make things happen, and how to realize a dream. But for children dreaming is enough.

Fairytales, modern romance movies, action movies... they all distort reality.

Yes and no...
I think it's fun to be a princess to dream about being swept off your feet.
Is it ok to not do anything and rely on a man to just walk into your life or to have the man be rich and do everything for you. I don't think that's a good view.
It's good to teach that it's a fantasy and show kids what real royalty does and has to do.
Even netflix the Christmas princess shows that it's not always simple.
It's enjoying the fantasy but then verbally letting them balance it with reality.Yes. It shows a world where girls have to be pretty princesses and is always a damsel in distress who can only be saved by her Prince Charming. It makes girls long for their "Prince Charming" which doesn't exist. But the thing is, as kids, we fail to see the actual reality hidden in those fairytales. We fail to see it in a different perspective that matches our reality. In Sleeping Beauty, even after the profound efforts of the King, the princess ends up being pricked by a needle. That is , we can't escape from things meant to happen. We have to face it with our might. In Beauty and the Beast, its not that Belle's love turned the Beast into a handsome prince, but that her love calmed The Beast's violent nature and embraced his wounded soul.
The original Grimm's Brothers fairy tales are often pretty grim and morbid and I could see them leaving a mark on a kid's imagination if read in the original, non-Disneyfied form. On the other hand, they remain readable as an adult since they haven't been dumbed down
Literally everything affects every human's perspective on everything. Of course 1 experience on a child could be 50% out of 2. While for an adult it's 1 out of a million, but an experience nontheless. We are all just the collection of our memories and experiences, that's what literally defines our reality.
So, yes; like anything else. From eating apple pie, to getting bitten by a dog, to helping their grandparents out.Nope. Mine knew they were just entertainment and not real.
Depends on the presentation. If it is clear that it is just a story, then no. If it is presented as truth, like religion, then very much so.
Children at a certain age don’t have a very good grasp on what is real and what is your fantasy so fairytale or not they would still struggle regardless their brains to start developed until a certain point in childhood
Not that I know of. Studies have shown though that the more religious you are, the less able you are to tell the difference between fantasy and reality.
Well my surname is very close to a certain fairytale and ironically I love porridge, beds and chairs so it may of played a part lol
