Unpopular opinion: I hate Cobra Kai, am I the only one who does?

I don't like how it portrays the bully as being Korean and picking on a South American immigrant, when in MY reality, it was the other way around.

I am a second-generation Korean American who was bullied heavily by South American immigrants as a child. They spat at me, made racist remarks and called me names. They threw stones at me and vandalized my property.

I have endured such hell at the hands of these Latinos and the way Cobra Kai does things, it doesn't illustrate my life. So I cannot support it. I just can't. Yet most people do.

When I write my own story, the Korean American will be the lead protagonist and the bully character will be South American.

I hate virtually every "American drama series" out there as they are all dross and pulp TV with no soul or story.

But your issues are not with the fictional drama, Cobra Kai, it's your hatred of people that mistreated you. That is not something anyone but you can fix, and fix it you should as such pernicious racism will affect your decisions.

Hunt down and confront the people who wronged you. Don't piss on people who have done nothing to you. Only Americans do that, hence why they're so hated.

Switch out English American and yes, the (mostly Korean) chinks were the same as the Mexicans.

You don't because you were probably sired by irresponsible parents. I pity you. This world has become quite the sperm and egg donation.

This is very dramatic. The boy who bullied you isn't or anyway related to Cobra Kai. Cobra Kai is a show and does not reflect your life. There are bullies everywhere, everyone can be a bully. Even in Korea bullying is way too common but you don't see people getting angry when they watch a show that has bullying that didn't reflect what actually happened to them as an individual.

Well, I take it personally, since I'm Korean American and the boy who made my life hell was a Hispanic South American. Cobra Kai doesn't show my reality, so I take it personally. I write my own stories in my spare time and the Korean American protagonist in mine is shown being bullied by an evil Hispanic.

That's what you think. But you know not the pain I've endured at the hands of these boys.

Then I see the races reversed in the Jew-made Cobra Kai, so it's an insult to my own existence. I've already written stories in which the Korean protagonist has to face the South American bully and the evil Jewish crime lord.

Considering your back story, it is reasonable and understandable that you can't find it a story arc that gives you hope or comfort.


Like you said, the villains were latinos in your life and in the show they were heros.

@Luopio27 it was the other way around my life. There's not a lot of East Asians where I lived and I got bullied a lot because of it. So I naturally hate Cobra Kai.
