Siesta

This painting is known as "Siesta" by the Latvian artist Arthur Berzinsh. Although it looks like a renaissance painting it was actually drawn in 2012. I first saw it in a meme.

What do you think about it?

Thought it was a renaissance painting until you mentioned it's not. It looks very artistic. But I can't figure out the meaning behind it, especially why the woman is blowing bubbles from her buttocks.

A good analysis. She indeed looks broken. But the cherubs look happy and playful. I don't get why the woman is blowing bubbles and why the cherubs are playing with it.

I think, it's because, she's remembering the times of happiness, when everything was ok. It can also mean, why those baby angels are doing that, is because, they are trying to comfort her.
