I highly doubt that's real oil. Something about the sheen doesn't look quite right, and most importantly, it's the wrong colour - i. e. that's that colour of used engine oil. I highly doubt anyone would cover themselves with used engine oil for a photo shoot... let alone fresh engine oil, which doesn't look like that. There are different things that could be added to any food grade oil to make it look like engine oil if you want it to. There's no reason to use actual engine oil for the purposes of that shoot... unless they're really that dumb.
