How to gain followers for my you tube channel or get my videos to be recommended?

I make history videos for you tube but I still have no followers or anything, because no one knows my channel and no one knows of its existence.

Do some research on search engine optimisation. Use marketing tools like pinterest and share your videos on social media. And improve the quality of your videos. High quality must be there from the start. Even so, chances of success are very little. I have my own history channel which had a good start and several videos going viral. It was all over for me when that bastard Indy Neidell decided he wants to make more channels and then collaborated with Sabaton as well. The last nail in the coffin was all the newer channels that started pulling strings with museum sharing their videos and gaining millions of views within couple of months after their start. That's when I knew I wasn't going to make videos for much longer. When I started I could easily gain 20-30 thousand views for each video, now I can barely reach 2 thousand.
