Why Do You Think New Blu Ray DVD Player Shows Some Static On The TV?

I been using a regular dvd player all these years, just a bit ago, at walmart, bought a Blu Ray DVD Player, and it is plugged in correctly, but, it is showing some static here and there on the tv? The Blu Ray DVD Player, came in a blue box with white writing, that says, ONN.
My plan is returning it tomorrow.

What are your opinions?

Nah, nevermind... My friend says, he has a regular tv like mine, and has the same blu ray dvd player, there is just something wrong with this player. tomorrow am just gonna get a new one, not the onn player

Welp... that dvd player, was NOT even a Blu Ray.
Been around the older and newer- Blu Ray DVD Players. Just never had my own.
I went to a Pawn Shop and another, I was told by the store guy, No stores sell the one with the red, white and yellow, since like 2009.. just the one that only uses HDMI cable. So, I'm thinking, maybe at a yard sale, someone will have the older-Blu Ray DVD Players, that only uses the red, white, and yellow hookup - for my older TV, I am looking for- Name Brand.

I know nothing about them but, I guess it's possible that your t. v. isn't capable of dealing with the signal being output by the player.

Maybe, I don't know. I've got a few devices here that are HDMI capable but, I still have yet to figure out what the hell HDMI is!!

Yeah, same here. Mostly because I could never FIND anybody to show me! But, I've also been one to just dive in and do it without being shown. When I was 24, my parents got one of these cocks for their 25th anniversary and had no clue what to do with it so, I decided to assemble it for them. It came with instructions but, I never used them! I just built the clock using logic to figure out where all the pieces went! When I was done with it, there were still two bits left that I hadn't a clue what to do with. So, for those, I read the instructions! One was a very tiny plastic washer that simply went behind one of the ramps! All I had to do was remove that ramp, put the washer in place and put the ramp back on! it only took a few seconds. The other bit was a white crayon! As the numbers on the sides of each ramp were embedded into the ramps, all I had to do was run the crayon over those numbers and the wax would fill up all of the numbers making them slightly more visible than they were before!

I never thought it was hard at all. It only took me maybe half an hour to build it It just LOOKED complex. It only took me 5 days to learn how to solve Rubik's Cube! Within a few days, I could solve it withing at least 20 seconds! At most of my jobs, I tend to figure out ways to do my job faster and better than they taught me!

I didn't think they were any more expensive. DVD players were at least a full weeks pay when they first came out, now if I'm making $7.50 an hour, I only have to work 5 hours to be able to buy one!!

Get a Samsung! Also get a good quality HDMI cable. That is very important!

I was looking for the samsung, sony, philips etc brands I like 'know- I like', It has a HDMI cable, it's just I cannot use it with this tv.

I have the red, white, yellow, from the other dvd player, and can use it with this new dvd player, it shows static though, taken it back

Yeah, there may be a version either of the other three (Sony, Samsung, Philips) that have the red, white yellow output. Onn is a cheap brand.

You bay be better off buying a new TV. They have come down in price so much, and probab;y would be way more advanced than your old TV TBH. For less than $300 you can get a good 43" HD Smart TV

Go with anything BUT Samsung!! Their stuff is GARAGE!! You culdn't PAY ME to take their stuff out of the store!! My first choice, if they even make blue-ray stuff, is Teac or Tascam. Second line choices would be Sony, Phillips, LG, maybe Toshiba, Panasonic, Technics, JVC. I don't think I even have a third tier.

I have a blu-ray when they first came out. it had the RCA jacks in the back. My new one is HDMI. I cannot imagine there are anymore analog players on the market. This is how they make their money.

I have non blu ray dvd players, so I have those jacks, It's just one in my living room is pausing a second here and there while watching a dvd, and the remote stooped working 2 nights ago too. Name brand. Also have blu ray dvds. So, it just made sence to buy a blu ray dvd player.

Unless you have a lot of blu-ray discs you really do not need it. My wife got a bunch of blurays from her parents so we went out and bought a player. It was only 50 bucks for a Sony.

Sounds like your T. V. does not have 1080i or above. Could be a compatibility issue.

No, you lose out on your HD quality with using the Red/White and Yellow. The issue is that your Blue Ray player may require a 4K T. V. Or it may be a player that only requires 1080i T. V.'s. You want to use a T. V. that utilizes an HDMI or Component Cables. It could also be a matter of the HDMI Port (most T. V.'s have multiple HDMI ports) has gone bad. Try a different port if you have more than one. It could also be the HDMI cable itself has gone bad or has a short in it.

Without knowing the specs for your T. V. and your Blue Ray, it's hard to say for sure. But those are good options to look at before you go deciding to buy a new T. V. to be compatible with your Blue Ray.
