What do you think of the Netflix Adaptation™ of Cowboy Bebop?

HOW WOULD YOU RATE COWOBOY BEBOP 2021 ON NETLIX ON A 1 TO 8 SCALE? (Nobody's giving this dogsh*t a 9 or 10.)

Cowboy Bebop is the Greatest Anime of All Time for a reason. I'm not as hyperbolic as most have been to this series. Don't get me wrong; it's BAD. F*cking awful! 100% never should've been made. But not totally irredeemable.

THE GOOD:

The CGI is fairly decent, considering it's a TV show.

The guy playing Jet is actually pretty damn good, despite not really looking like him. He embodies the character well enough and even sounds like him!

The plotlines aren't the worst thing I could imagine, even if they didn't stick to the anime at all.

They kept the original music, which made the show as unforgettable as it is.

They remade the intro fairly accurately, for the most part. (Video above)

THE BAD:

John Cho, as many have said, is too damn old to be Spike. Spike is supposed to be 25-30, and Cho is 50. Faye is f*cking horrendous and easily the worst part of the show.

This "Faye" is just Sweet Dee from "It's Always Sunny From Philadelphia." Literally, the same type of character. She's crass, rude, obnoxious, and not as funny as she thinks she is. The actress, Danielle Pineda, is also a cunt in real life, and didn't even do basic research into the character, like her height or even what she looks like. Faye is literally one inch taller and five pounds slimmer than the actress herself.

Ed... We won't talk about what they did to her. All I'll say is, Ed is supposed to be autistic at worst, not "zany for zaniness sake."

The blatant wokeness they added into the show with the side characters, including making Faye homosexual/queer/lesbian for literally no reason other than "representation."

Also, every other side character who isn't a villain is a minority race or LGBT. I don't think a single character in this show is straight, white, and a good guy. I wasn't trying to notice the wokeness, but it's obvious.

7-8 out of 10: I loved it and thought Netflix did a good job with it.

5-6 out of 10: So-so. Average. I didn't regret watching it.

3-4 out of 10: A steaming turd. But I've seen worse. Has a few redeemable moments.

1-2 out of 10: Sacrilege. Whoever made this should be banned from show business.

I've never heard of Cowboy Bebop before or don't care about anime.

I only watched the first couple of episodes after my parents came across it the other night. I told them it was based off the anime adaptation which is truly what should be watched.

I will say the pros I took away are the first episode was close to the first movie in the opening scene and mimicked the first episode of the show pretty decently and that the opening was kept intact as well with the original theme.

Don't know if they are still watching it since I watched the first three, but I won't go any further with it. The anime was perfect and ended perfectly and if people ask about Cowboy Bebop I will point them in that direction for the real deal.

If it comes on Netflix, it generally is bullshit.
If it's an adaptation of an existing show, it's guaranteed bullshit.

I just don't get why people use that service at all. Its content are usually sub par in terms on quality and some of its content are even disgusting from both a moral and artistic standpoints.

I've never had Netflix or any of the streaming services. But I did spend Sunday night watching the episodes on 123Movies. I'd rate the show a 3/10.

Haven't watched it. But all live action adaptations of animes and other animated media have pretty much been utter crap so I wouldn't be surprised if this was as well.

I felt bad for the fans watching the trailer. Everything seemed off. Like they were just one thing away from making a faithful adaptation. But you can't Westernize Japanese culture. It's also not a good thing to attack a fanbase when they point out the legit issues. Least it's over now. Bebop canceled
