I didn't know they had color that early. I only know they had cartoons, mostly Disney, in 1939. Before that everything was B&W. Even TV shows in the 50's and early 60's were mostly in B&W. The Wizard of OZ came out in 1939 and started out in B&W and then turned to color. Most people didn't have a color TV until the mid 60's.

Walt Disney first used 3 strip Technicolor in 1932, and in actual films, it was first used in 1934 but it was a short movie.

The first long film in 3 strip Technicolor movie came in 1935, which is still before 1939

And before 1935, they were long movies in 2 strip version of Technicolor as of late 20s.

Color movies existed long before 1939 but as of late 20s, they were fully shot in color. So don't count the time before late 20s. Lol.
