Why am I not interested in watching any movies and series on a FREQUENT basis?

Why do some people keep on asking me repeatedly "do you watch any movie or series?".

As if there is nothing better to do.
I am learning new software, playing interactive games, trying out recipes and minding my own business with my end semester.
Or even if I'm totally free,
I'll still not watch series or movies, I'll rather watch YouTube videos of my interest.

Why do some people only find movie or series as a topic of interest?

I'll rather read, have new experiences/travel, even act than watching all that.

Relatable. I used to watch them a lot. Left that habit since past one year or two.
At first, it was because I got busy with studies. Then later, whenever I thought of watching anything new, I felt tired to watch it. There's been a change in my interests too and now I'm even more busy with assignments and studies xD. Still, in my free time, even the thought of watching something new makes me feel like 'no thanks'.

And people ask me too what I have been watching. I don't know why and how do they watch so many things at the same time. Many seem to do it just to appear 'cool' etc.

Exactly they follow the majority in order to stay 'updated, latest and cool'.

Yeah, it is almost getting annoying to me when people come up with all these things like they matter so much. Better off being 'uncool' rather being like this.

Yeah I just cut them off if they start judging me/labeling me as boring for not watching. They're shallow people in my experience.

Sure everyone has different preferences but forcing others to do the same and then judging them for not agreeing is toxic.

On a second thought.. I guess its the herd mentality. People like us who aren't part of the crowd.. who won't jump into the *let's watch this cuz this is hot right now* bandwagon.. are rebels and hence oddballs.

And since we stick to our grounds and do things at our own whims, we're constantly asked and forced and looked upon differently.

Amazing answer. I actually don't confirm with society or others expectations. Yeah we are looked down upon as "boring". I would relax totally, play games, watch my preferred videos or hang out with friends in my free time.
