Do you write songs or poems to express your self?

Songs yes, but just instrumentals. I was never the type to be able to express myself lyrically in such elegant ways except through long-winded prose.

I actually did win a poetry competition in my teens but instead of writing some deep poem about my feelings or life experiences, I wrote about rainy days and raindrops splashing into puddles. Oddly some of my classmates interpreted that poem as one about sex when I was a virgin and had no idea how on earth they interpreted that! :-D

I am not a very good musician though. I just improvise and record something on my MIDI keyboard here and there, like so, and often when drunk after I come home from a night of drinking at the bar (something about drinking and maybe listening to so much loud music makes me come home all drunk wanting to hastily record something on my keyboard):

As with my writings on here, they tend to vary all over the place depending on my intoxication level. :-D

I used to write poems.

I still do, sometimes.

It helps me find peace of mind and luckily I am pretty good at it, people ask me to write a book as well.
