Is $10,000+ a fair price for a drawing?

I noticed that some artists charge over $10,000 US Dollars for their art work (i. e.: fine-line drawings). My question is, why would artists charge customers all this money to buy their work? What value is in the artists work that they charge such a fortune as $10,000 or higher?

If the artist can sell it, then yes.

The value of art is highly subjective between both artist and purchaser.
