I use to play for different organizations, either for money or volunteer (then covid hit…LMAO) I have had opportunities to teach people how to play. I just don’t think teaching is for me…lol😂
What about you? Do you play any instruments? 😌

I got my first guitar when I was 11. By 16 I was a decent lead guitarist and got better over the years. I learned some music theory in community college.
I'm also a vocalist.
I was mostly in three man rock bands with bass, drums, and me on guitar and vocals for over 15 years. We were really popular in high school and into my early 20s. But I had a good job and wasn't interested in trying to make it as a professional musician. I was in some other good bands in my late 20s, too.
By my early 30s, my musician friends and I were getting busy with jobs and family. We stopped getting together. After a while, I got tired of playing along with records by myself and my guitars eventually wound up in a closet.
It wasn't until about 20 years later, after my wife and I moved and joined a nondenominational church that I got inspired to play again. At that point, I started playing a variety of music including folk, Irish, rock and roll, R&B, pop, and rock. And I focused more on vocals.
Depending on what we were supposed to play, I would create an arrangement and cobble together the needed musicians whether it be keyboards, extra guitars, bass, sax, strings, drums, extra percussion, or harmony and backup vocals. I started to get my mojo back and people liked it.
For over 15 years (before covid), I was asked to play a set of songs at a large, annual St. Patrick's Day ceilidh. So I'd get someone on accordion, mandolin or Celtic banjo, bass, back up vocals, and sometimes an extra guitar. I would sing fun rebel or pub songs.
Around the same time, I formed a rock band and we started rehearsing once a week in a studio. I had a bass player, drummer and keyboardist. We had a lot of fun and played a few small gigs. But at the end of 2019, it kind of folded for several reasons. Then covid came along and some musicians wanted to follow "protocol". So I haven't done anything since.
I wish. But i plan to learn the piano so i can compose faster
I only arrange/compose music using a free DAW. If they're right, i'd say my songs have 90s vibes. A sample of what i made. https://voca.ro/1d4Vr95wA39W Vocaroo just muffled it but i'd like to keep it that way lol. The original quality is in my youtube. I have different genres but my composing style is almost constant.
I could share it here but I only do it in private
Lol thanks! That's actually what i go for!
It has the most relaxing vibe!
Ok here's the high quality preview of it http://sndup.net/qtc7
Speaking of grooviness, one last time, I just wanna share a preview of one of my grooviest song http://sndup.net/ts68
I've played several: taiko (Japanese drums), percussion, trombone, clarinet, piano, and violin.
I'm currently learning guitar. Slowly.
' But then the fire nation attacked' 😂
No, not at all at a decent level at least! I forgot how to read sheets. I want to play the piano
Its always the fire nation

I need to absorb your drumming skills! I play a bunch of instruments (guitar, piano, drums, flute) but so poorly. I was trying to learn about drums one time and I recorded this on MIDI drumset but I cheated so much digitally looping and recording at slower tempos and quantizing:

I don't have the coordination of a great drummer. I get my foot going and then try to do upper body and my foot loses it. Then I get upper body going and I lose the foot.
Thanks very much! I know what I want the percussion to do. I just can't do it without a whole lot of cheating! :-D
Mostly I improvise on the keyboard like this. I was slightly drunk but I thought of a beautiful tree in a meadow after wandering through the forest and encountering a clearing:

"Tree of Peace" or something like that.
I'm much more a visual person than a musical person. I think even when I try to make music, I'm trying to evoke something visual. I don't think I was born with the right wirings and sense to appreciate music this way entirely on its own. I want to "paint a visual picture" when I attempt to make music.
I shared a song in my comment here.
@Aiko_E_Lara You got a groove thing going! The vibe is so relaxing and nice. Most of mine are cheesy and designed for video games like so. I wanted to "set the setting" like title screen, character creation, world theme, combat theme:

Not sure how you got the quality so clear. I did record mine directly from my stereomix but it's muffled. But it's not a big deal. I can just share an MP3 preview of another one. She's right about that "anime vibe" tho. Now tell me this doesn't sound like Anime lol https://sndup.net/zbyk/
@Aiko_E_Lara That sounds badass!
Yes, I play the piano on an occasional basis, although I should get back to practicing seriously. I'd like to play again and "relearn" a piece I had once mastered - the Prelude to Bach's Englisch Suite nummer 2 in A minor. Now I'd surely go off-key, especially in the crescendo.
I can carry a tune, but I've never really found an instrument I like.
Lately I've been playing around with a kalimba, it's a surprisingly capable instrument for the price.
I dabble at the piano, actually the keyboard, as a hobby. Never played anything seriously (like in a band or school orchestra) or professionally.
Yes, piano, drum sequencer, guitar, and harmonica. I hate playing in front of anyone that isn't my kid brother, and don't plan on playing on front of anyone. It's purely therapeutic.
i used to could play the trumpet when I was in school. Can't now. Couldn't keep up practice because the neighbors are too close, and they don't like my groovy sounds.
I play bass and guitar. Mostly bass these days. Not the best at it by any means, but I only play for fun anyway so it doesn't matter much
I’m waiting for someone to say the skin flute 😊 but no I can’t
Piano, bass, handpan. Synths and machines of all sorts
