Why western shows are woke?

It is really hard to find any interesting western show because they're woke. I mostly watch anime and k drama these days. Do most Westerner like woke shows? Just wanted to know this.

Because specific flavors of bigotry are VERY hot right now in certain parts of the country (well, countries). Most of us aren't really interested, and just want good stories, which I gather the Japanese are quite happy to provide; I seem to recall reading that one series (Demon Slayer, I think it was called, but I might be remembering that wrong) outsold basically the entire American comic book industry last year.

Similar sentiments have sadly overtaken the Sci-Fi genre; the once-revered Hugo Awards are now an overtly racist parade of political virtue-signalling. And the Nebulas aren't much better.

I'm beyond tired of woke shows. They let politics get in the way of good storytelling.

Some excellent exceptions are the shows The 100 and The Expanse. There's diversity in both but its done properly.

Studios are appointing showrunners based on their politics and not their ability to make good media. That why we have the phrase "Get Woke, Go Broke" cause these studios are losing money at an obscene rate. Big surprise, people generally prefer good quality story over political pandering.

No. It's a known way to stop many people watching their content. But they feel they should preach us into submission.

Hollywood is worker than woke and can't help themselves. Despite the fact that the more woke a show is the more likely it will bomb.

Nope. I dont like them. Its because of the political climate.
