It gives me goosebumps it reminds me how important it is to actually love yourself to really like yourself! How else would you love anyone else if you don't love yourself first? 💋😍🤗🥰💋

Oh my goodness I've done something I haven't done in so long I made myself a coquito rum drink last night and I danced The night away at first to old '90s hits while I made the coconut and cream rum drink and then I switched it to a Latina playlist.

Well, apart from Vince Guaraldi's "Skating," this morning I am thinking about the soundtrack to the computer game Silent Hunter III. My wife and I discussed this, and she, a professional musician, admitted that the soundtrack to said game was great (though she couldn't understand how I immersed myself for hours playing it).

I have to say both The stalking theme and the leaving on patrol are really good. The stalking feels suspenseful and On patrol I feel excitement adventure then danger and determination with an urge to escape but victoriously.
I preference leaving on patrol for it emotional changes but I like stalking's steady mysterious up tempo

Good soundtracks convey certain feelings and emotions. As per the discussion I had with my wife about this very soundtrack (and she was a professional musician)...

The stalking
To me, it conveys constant danger. At any minute, their lives could end. At any minute, they could be called upon to end the lives of others. The unrelenting bass, never changing in tempo, reminds me of this. The men who managed to survive must have been traumatized. It's possible something like this soundtrack played out in their minds for decades to come as they cruised beneath the surface of life, solitary and watchful.

The intro
It reminds me of what Winston said in Orwell's seminal book 1984, "We are the dead." As a player who knows history, you are "in on it." You know what becomes of Germany. You know probably what became of nearly 80% of the young men in the u-boat service; they did not live to see 1946. Skip to 2:15 mark. The third theme is my favorite. It starts with a drum roll on snare drums. Very martial. Very militant. Then the sad and fateful melody starts. Then at 2:45, there are six descending chords, mournful like a funerary song. The crew you see on the bridge, shifting nervously, sharply scanning the instruments. They are the dead. They have been lied to and their lives tossed into a losing gamble. They will not prevail. Even if they live, the trauma they suffer will be with them all their lives. Somehow this haunting theme conveys this so very well. When I told my wife this, she just looked at me admiringly and said, "wow..."

One of the few times she didn't roll her eyes! 😉

I have to say MAX I really enjoyed your interpretation to the songs. I wonder if I knew the background story better to the game or had played the game before would I feel differently about them? I often wake up with a song in my head. I can often narrow down how it ended up in there, but not always. The apparently random ones usually inspire a change of my Pandora channel. Who am i to challenge inspiration? I can’t honestly remember the last one clearly, but i’ll list some of those on repeat. “Where Is My Mind”, originally done by The Pixies, but there are lots of great remakes available. In fact, i’d heard the song probably three different ways before i ever remember hearing the original. It’s pretty commonly found in soundtracks. I also wake up with “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley in my head from time to time. I just luv that song! I also think it’s ripe for genre-busting remakes or tributes. Similarly, i discovered “Blank Space” by I Prevail and that helped me more meaningfully explore Taylor Swift. I often get one version or another stuck in my head.
Curiously, I don’t really consider myself musically inclined.
