nope it isn't overrated. and although you have to pass the looks department like you said, its not impossible to go around it you know?(humor, confidence, knowledge, experience, character. these ultimately matter long term as well you know?).

if i find a girl unattractive, but she treats me really well is kind, caring, wise and striving to become better, I'd fall for her despite her physical attractiveness. plus over time, ill start to like the way she looks.
