Is there some kind of flute mute?

So I've been playing the flute since I was 13. I decided to see if there was such thing as a mute for it. I'm pretty sure there isn't but my mom and one of my younger brothers say there is when it's only for the recorder, not a flute you'd play in band or orchestra. If there was one then there would be people using them and be seeing them in local music stores

I already looked at that site. they said its for recorders. not metal flutes used in band or orchestra
