What does this song mean?

I just listened to this and I can honestly say the lyrics are rather confusing to me, just Because I can relate to a few of these verses but more on a level of separation of self and consciousness, a mental low or disconnected feelings of regret or disgust of self image, hence feel nothing/numb. However I would assume he is referring to somebody he knows in the song, possibly a rather self-centered person who has treated him poorly and continues to repeat. Maybe being ignored or feelings neglected by said person and now he feels nothing for them anymore. But this is the beauty of music it can always be open for interpretation from different perspectives.

Sounds like they tried to cut a toxic person out of their life politely, but that doesn't work so now they say the harsh truth (you're toxic and I don't care about you or our relationship anymore).
