Do you plan on watching the remake of Quantum Leap this fall?

I cannot believe that there will be another remake of an old TV show. Doens. t anyone have a new idea anymore?

When has a reboot EVER been good? The Planet of the Apes one was, I'll admit, but that came after a reboot so bad it almost killed a franchise that survived "Battle", and THAT was a movie that torpedoed a franchise that featured "Beneath", which explicitly tried to kill itself off, even ending with a voiceover SPECIFICALLY SAYING that *everything on Earth was dead*. The second reboot utterly failed to match the original series, because it didn't suck.

Now, the other good reboot people talk about is Battlestar Galactica, but I can't comment on that. I TRIED to watch it, but the decision to have it filmed by epileptics with the DTs on a field of marbles during an Earthquake made it impossible; I made it about forty minutes in the introductory movie, then threw up. Literally. The shaky-cam is THAT bad.

Changing social mores about what offends people can be worked around; changing social mores about FEAR OF offending people can't. I doubt Hollywood can pull it off these days.

I wouldn't be watching Like all remakes they ruin it, by not trying to be like the original. Instead they fill it with LGBT, feminist, BLM crap

No. It sucks there's not much originality these days. And what sucks even more is that the quirkier and unique shows often get the boot before they're able to reach their conclusion 😓.

One show I was very fond of and looking forward to watching more of was Archive 81. WHAT A SHAME!!!

Also, the reboots are never as good of quality as the source material.

I loved watching the original series when growing up, but I don't watch TV much anymore to want to give the new one a try. I don't think it is gonna have the same magic as the old one had anyway and as others have said, the constant remakes in Hollywood drive me crazy.

All of this fits the model of cyclical history, which suggests the West is in terminal cultural decline. After spending the 20th century deconstructing its cultural heritage, the artists of the West ran out of new ideas, especially those that are innovative. As cultural decline accelerates the arts become more politicized and, at a certain point (around 2000-2005 in the West), tend to recycle, retread, and modify old art. This is why we have numerous sequels and versions of superhero stories and why they are almost always retconned to include intersectional leftist ideology. If you go to the art museum you can see the same thing. Art post-2000 is recycling concepts from modern art that came and went during the 20th century. It is frustrating, but during this stage true artistic geniuses will be passed over in favor of political ideologues.

That co-actor has always been annoying, wasn’t a fan of this original. He ruined the movie Air force One alone with the woman he acted alongside in the war room, too. (Trying not to be negative, but truth lol)

There have to be new ideas and concepts out there. But the people with the money are more interested in saleability and returns on their investments. So they’re more likely to back a proven idea or concept than they are to risk investing in something new and groundbreaking.

Nah I liked the original so I'll just watch that again if I want to see the show, the remakes are almost never as good as the original and even if they are they lack the same feel the originals had in most cases.

Doubt it will match the original, Reboots always seem to crash and burn, whereas some of the more resent series are never given a chance to get established.
