If you're not a fan of video games, why?

I'm curious why. I've loved them since I was 4 years old playing Doom and Wolfenstein 3D on my Dad's Windows 3.1 PC lol. I'll play them until I die too, they're one of my passions. Satisfies my active type personality and I'm a visual person too. Not to mention the amazing stories some games have, combat, strategy involved, puzzles, etc. I work on coding too fixing the old Fallout 3 game making some money on the side. I can go on and on about video games so I'll shut up now lol.

So why do some people not like them? I don't get it 🤔

I don't get it either.
Hating video games is kinda like saying you hate everything. Since video games are literally all forms of entertainment combined, and are based on just about every subject.

I just don't find them entertaining, honestly. I don't have a ton of time to invest into them, and it's not something I find particularly rewarding when I do invest time into them.

Most because they don't think of them as their own medium, and they do that because they don't know any better. Not liking video games is fundamentally no different from not liking books- the vast majority are either mindless brief amusement or Skinnerian dopamine machines, but equating the latest Call of Duty with something like Planescape: Torment, or Postal with Kerbal Space Program, or Candy Crush with Grim Fandango, just shows you don't know what you're talking about.

In fairness, I'm sure it all seems pretty damn impenetrable from the outside; the jargon is thick, the technical knowledge needed can be VERY intimidating if you didn't grow up with it, and while the culture is complex and nuanced, its reputation in the public eye says it's anything but.

I'm too busy competing in real life my friend, but I did love it from a very young age, similar to you, kept playing till 2 or even 3 years ago, I'm 20 now not 29

The only game I play is league of legends. & I'm not even good and atick to aram 😅

Videos games in general give me headaches and make me sleepy. Thats why I don't care for them.

Different strokes for different folks. I love gaming, but I'm completely bored out of my skull by sports and that's a big industry in just about every country.
