Some racialists like to make fund of me, but this is my idea of a good time. After you eat your vittles, you go out on the veranda with your banjo and fiddle. Whoever doesn't have an instrument will then dance with their feet close to the ground to keep the beat. We call it flatfooting.

I have never actually engaged in flatfooting per se, but I do tap time when I'm fiddling or picking.

I enjoy watching and hearing the rhythm of the dancers.
