@exitseven It was by mistake, in 1963, he went on tour in England with the Beatles, accidentally left his regular glasses on the plane, so had to use his prescription sunglasses while on tour, which ended up being his signature look.

Roy was a transition artist. Trying to utilize the big band musicians that his sponsors had in the studio and trying to move toward Rock and Roll. Much of what he wrote had an orchastral feel to it. Very unique. Much of it could have been sung by Sinatra

Yes, he was in Boston in a club called The Channel maybe a week or so before he died.
