I remember that day in Spring of 1984 when I heard on the news that Marvin was killed by his father. I was a junior in college and riding on a college commuter bus between campus on the hill and my apartment downtown. It was the day before Marvin would have turned 45. My own father was 44 at the time and I was 21.

  The fact the dance video shows Regina King, Lauren London, Idris Elba, Laz Alonso, Loretta Devine and so many more dancing but cuts out before Chris Brown dances 😂

  @RolandCuthbert yea i have a huge cd collection of artists lol. In the early 2000s, i was in elementary and my grandma would cook. She’d grab a broom, my mom would grab a mop, and i’d grab a spatula. We’d act like Gladys Knight and the pips among others while singing and dancing around the kitchen. My grandma played so much 40s-70s swing/disco/oldies music around me that i’m very familiar with it now. And my mom played a lot of 80s-early 2000s. My mom’s music consisted of something from every genre. So i’m like in love with music. I know some of everything haha. I intend to play some of everything from the 40s+ around my future kids too
