I won't say he's the most complex character in fiction but the reveal of his complexity made me immediately connect with him...
Severus Snape from the Harry Potter books.
Once we learn the truth about Snape, everything about him makes sense and I very personally connected with him having felt the same emotions and similar circumstances.
I didn't read the books, but, when I saw that in "Deathly Hallows Part 2", and discovered the truth about Snape, I instantly recognized that Harry Potter is not just kids books, but adult stuff that would be taught for generations like Shakespeare. J. K. Rowling's work is a testament to her brilliance and nuance as a writer.
Every good war movie should have at least one complex character. So just as an example, General Bittrich from A Bridge Too Far:

For completely fictional characters, I like V from V for Vendetta:
Im complex enough. I dont look for other folks like that 🤣 I mean i guess Damon when i watched Vampire Diaries
