Did you know that John Wick and the Matrix are connected stories?

I see them being similar and maybe running parallel, but not really converging. The writer would have had to tie these things in either in the first matrix or the first John Wick.

Aside from both staring Keanu Reeves, I never put it together. I'll have to watch John Wick again and look for the connection.

Two types of movies I hate, are:
1. Shitty writing, so they attempt to make up for it with sex scenes.
2. Shitty writing, so they attempt to make up for it by crashing 128 cars. lol

I tried to get my brother to watch John Wick, but he can't shake how much he hated Keanu Reeves Bill and Ted's Big Adventure. I totally get that. I hated Johnny Depp, from his earlier movies. But when he became a pirate, I gave him a second chance. And one of my all time favorite movies, is Transcendence. Long story, but Johnny is one of the greatest minds in AI, and has to upload his mind to a computer, because he is dying.
So in general, movies based on pure violence are boring to me. But John Wick is somehow different. It wasn't about a drug cartel or violent gangs. They killed John's puppy! Now it's on! lol
It's very much like Rambo.

@Mary4567 I liked all the Rambo movies except for the last one. Stallone should have had a more thoughtful end to the franchise that just a big body count movie Rambo is a very complex character

After some very brief googling, I found this article www.cinemablend.com/.../keanu-reeves-and-chad-stahelski-explains-how-the-john-wick-movies-are-tied-in-with-the-matrix which only talks about a connection between the franchises in the form of Chad Stahelski using a lot of the same methods for directing that he learned from the Wachowski's.

If that's what you're talking about, I think it's a bit much to say that their stories are connected.

no it's deeper than that. it's the actual story. like neo being john wick in the matrix. i know that's hard to think about but it's worth researching on your own because i hate all the john wick movies and half of the matrix
