What did you think of John Wick Chapter 4?

As it nears the end of its cinema release, what did you think of it?

I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I will say I think they ended the story and I wasn't too happy about that. Other than that, it was another fun flick with lots of gun loading and sick deaths. 3 ½ stars from me.

In my opinion, this is another series of movies where the first one will always be the best one.

The first one is still the best overall, because it can stand on its own as a full story. My understanding is that they didn't think any sequels would be given the green light, so they didn't set it up for an obvious continuation. The gunfights in it were less flashy, but more realistic too - the overuse of bulletproof suits in the later movies derails a lot of otherwise excellent action.

I think the fourth one is the second-best, though I did have some minor gripes with it. From what I've heard, they broke down and condensed the plots of two movies into one.

The kevlar suits really were pretty ridiculous. I think there are suits like that which can generally stop most bullets but being shot at with an assault rifle at point blak range is still going to kill the wearer regardless of whether or not the bullet penetrates the material.

There are suits made that could stop lower velocity rounds or shrapnel, but nowhere near as they're portrayed in the movies, and certainly not against rifle bullets. I forget the name of the company that produces them, but there are sports coats that provide comparable to level 3A protection. Even if a ballistic vest, metal or ceramic plates stop a bullet, they'll still more than likely knock someone on their a*s and/or take the wind out of them.

Great movie but stupid ending if they are just taking a break from making more John Wick movies with Keanu Reeves. John Wick 2 and 3 are still better though.

The John Wick franchise is what almost every modern action movie wishes it was. I'm glad Scott Adkins was in John Wick 4 because I feel that the John Wick franchise took some inspiration from his action movies.

I had heard so much about this franchise so I made it a point to watch it. Yes, the fight scenes are good but the whole premise was ridiculous.

Yeah that sums it up. It’s meant to be kind of absurdist. One has to suspend disbelief and just take what comes with this. But that has its limit.

If you liked the others, it's worth seeing. I'd say worth seeing in the cinema too.

I thought there would be one more movie.

Anyway the action and Keanu is amazing

Do yourself a favour and see it while it's still showing in cinemas. I don't think watching it at home will be quite the same.
