Hollywood also has a long history of suppressing free speech (it alternates between suppressing liberal and conservative. It used to be very, very anti LGBT for a long time, to the point that a movie that depicted a non-heterosexual who didn't either end up getting punished or changing for the better couldn't get screen time in theatres. Hollywood made itself the morality police, and the still feel like they are today)

On another hand, The Hunt was was intended to send up Internet conspiracies and the country’s ideological divisiveness, particularly how “people rush to assume something about someone or assume they understand the beliefs of people that they don't know just based on them being 'the other team.’ Understood by most to be berating beliefs based on total misconceptions, Trump jumped in to condemn the movie without even seeing it.
