What do you think about "Lifetime" movies?

They are those movies that talk a lot about female issues like sexual assault, body dysmorphia, high school bullying, teen pregnancy, stalking, etc... Those kind of "Based on a true story" kinda movies with washed up actors. Honestly, I think the issues are important but they go the wrong way around it at times.

Honestly cheesy movies with crappy actors are sometimes the best lmao. I don’t always need an Oscar worthy script or performance to enjoy a movie.
I can’t name many lifetime movies but I know I do like that kind of cheesy vibe lol.
I love the Jodi Arias one though lol.

This one isn’t Lifetime but ABC family so same shit. Cyberbully with Emily Osment. I don’t care how stupid this movie is, it’s a classic lmao.

First time I read about this movie genre. There are interesting movies from that genre I've seen.

I once saw a movie (estonian I think) called Klass. Was about a shy guy who get bullied pretty severely (and I mean it was hard to watch) another guy became his friend and tried to help him. One day they get ambushed by the bullies and force them to do a gay sexual act. They day after the two guys take the shy guy's dad's guns and gunned the bullies down.

That movie really leaves you speachless and a bit disturbed.

Lifetime movies made in the 90s and early 2000s were predictable but great tv. The 2010+ are just bad acting and remakes with hasbeens on bad botox. Storylines are not just predictable but downright silly that i root for the character to get killed sooner than later

I watched lots of them when I was a child / teen and was sick (I couldn't go to school so I watched those movies cause that was the only interesting stuff).

Most are bad but some are good.

I think it is bad. I think it is relatable to women but every time I watched lifetime it was something negative happening. Negativity sells but it also keeps you focused on negativity and whatever you are focusing on you notice even if it isn't even really there.

Yeah, I agree. They hire the crappiest actors and writers for those. And it's basically the same story over and over. Like I don't understand why they have to make a movie about every individual case, especially since there are already professional films about some of those cases

Sorry, but I don't like watching anything centered around negativity. I don't need anything negative in my life. If I'm going to watch a show, I want to watch something that is going to be positive and motivational and lift my spirits.
Also, people are affected by the media that they consume, you know.

I like Lifetime movies and the Lifetime Movie Network movies, they all have good programs on them.

I never watch them. My wife watches the Hallmark movies. They are all the same. She gets mad when I give away the ending.

I read that romance novels were the best selling genre of books in history. It kind of irks me when women on this site say that guys who watch porn are losers, because they probably have a bunch of romance e-books on their Kindle.

I grew up with those actually as a kid my mom always watched them so I seen them early it taught me sensitivity to a lot of stuff and to be smarter some sad stories being witnessed on there.

there are those kinds of movies and then there are romantic movies. for female viewers it is helpful to have both. everyone can appreciate both.
