What do you think about cinemas?

I don't watch very many movies anymore, but I do like going to the cinema. If I want to see a new movie, I don't want to watch it on TV at home. I like seeing it on a huge screen with a really good sound system to get the full experience.

However, ticket prices are getting expensive. I wish they would do away with all of the unnecessary video games, kids games, lounges, collectibles and knick knacks for sale in the lobby area, which would help to keep prices down. I understand why they do it, but the vast majority of people don't use/buy any of it, yet everyone pays jacked up ticket prices because of all of that stuff. A cinema should be a place to see a movie and perhaps buy some snacks beforehand. It shouldn't be an arcade, an entertainment centre and junk shop all rolled into one. I could very happily do without.

Other than that, I really enjoy the experience of seeing movies on the big screen. It's way better than streaming it online. No thanks.

I love them , but its VERY inexpensive for me here.

I love the cinema experience , I buy a monthly pass for 350 baht about $15.50 aud , and I can see as many movies as I like in that month , now not all are English or sub titles , so I would see around 7 movies a month.

The cinema is new , its clean , its a little too cold , but I can handle that , and I always sit in H9 , seat.

I think the last time I watched a movie in a cinema was at least a year ago.  Honestly, I don't miss it.  Home theater experiences are more delightful.

dirty... and the ones that are less dirty, way overpriced... and the worst of all is the "people lotto" which is when you end up with people that should just not be allowed to go to the movies, lmfao...

however, in great company I am still willing to go... lol

I love the cinema. As long as it's well maintained. That means thoroughly cleaned between screenings. Especially the back rows. And recently I've come to appreciate how important where the disabled seats or wheelchair spaces are.

I have not been to a cinema since before Covid My wife and I only went once of twice a year anyway. I have a big TV in my family room and a home theater sound system. I may never go to the cinema again.

They were decent at one point. I think they've had their heyday and are now in decline. They push too much communist propaganda and actually want to charge for it. That's a bad business model.

I do still like to go to the cinema on occasion for the right film. But only near the end of it's showing as it's normally really quite. Though I regret the last film I saw it was so bad I wouldn't even give it a 1/10 rating.
