You couldn't pay me enough to even consider doing that at such depths. It's not like it hasn't been done before, but I'm entirely certain the other subs and ROVS were much safer to use and designed for that depth

Yeah seems like it. I'm with you that there is not enough money to out me in that thing to see a ship that sunk. Don't care what anyone says that is a stupid idea to go down that far underwater. I read after it happened that they skipped on tests and also some materials. Tradgety it happened but I can't say I'm surprised that it did considering the risk if everything went perfect. Also gotta wonder all the other failed attempts weren't a warning to the passengers of that trip. I'll stay firmly on solid ground thanks.

It wasn't metal it was carbon fibre. There's a reason the navy builds it's machines out of metal, they don't want to die.

It was certainly dangerous - but some people like dangerous adventures like climbing Mt Everest. Its not clear yet whether the company was honest about the risks - we'll know more when they figure out what went wrong

Here's the thing: it wasn't metal!!! The end caps of Titan were made of titanium but the hull was carbon fiber to which the end caps were glued on. Had the whole thing been metal, it wouldn't have been a coffin.
