Who remembers Jay Leno's HEADLINES on The Tonight Show?

I used to love staying up late to watch the HEADLINES segments on The Tonight Show. Some of the things were so funny, others just ridiculous.

It's hard to believe that was 20 years ago.

Who remembers this? Did you enjoy it?

Fortunately, many of the shows are available on YouTube... so I can get my "fix".

i used to love that era of Leno so much with Kevin laughing and playing guitar and Ross the intern. My fave thing they ever did was when southwest started charging obese people for two plane tickets. Jay made a joke that one of their planes crashed into the ocean and they just played videos of fat people belly flopping off diving boards 🤣🤣

Indeed, that was a golden age, when late night TV hosts were non-partisan, or they bipartisan and would take shots at either side (or ALL sides) if they were funny enough. Now, we are stuck with the snivelings of unfunny jokemen like Stephen Colbert, but at least I have a reason to go to sleep earlier now.

I used to love watching those with my mother. I'd say we should start taping them; we never did. Pity.

I remember one had a headline of "like father, like son", with a picture of President Reagan next to a picture, at the same pose and from the same angle, of President Dubya. My brother literally fell on the floor and couldn't stop laughing for several minutes.

Yes, Jay Leno was the best. I loved his monologues and I remember the Headlines too.
