Jimmy Buffett’s cause of death was Merkel cell carcinoma, a rare form of skin cancer that grows aggressively and spreads quickly to other parts of the body, according to an obituary posted to the singer-songwriter’s official website.

I've been a fan. I'll remember him as the entertainer who "grew old but not up"! He was a great entertainer. This was the first thing I heard when I awoke this morning. My best friend texted me about the sad news.

Of course my favorite song of his is "Margaritaville". I tell my Latina lady friends that I want to wake up with their tattoo on my arm... LOL!

I was trying to get friends to go out this evening for cheeseburgers and a margarita, in remembrance of Jimmy Buffett. But no takers. So I bought a premixed margarita and 2 cheeseburgers from McDonalds... LOL

I saw Jimmy Buffet perform just before Margaritaville came out. He was more a folk act than a rock star. I used to listen to him on an underground radio station that played such songs as the Great Filling Station Holdup and Pencil thin Mustache.

I've only been to the one in Las Vegas. It was quite the festive place, especially being in Las Vegas. I'm curious as to how many there are. I'm sure I can quickly find it on the 'net. // Yeah one guy that went too soon!

I never met the man but I read one of his books and I remember after reading the book I thought it was probably a pretty fun guy
