Bob will be best remembered by me probably as Judson in The Librarian (s).
Just because.

Bob did so many great characters, yet in the end they were all "Bob".
That could be considered a criticism of some other entertainers.
Not so with Bob

To bring so much joy to so many must have been very gratifying for him.

The guy was a comedic genius, his timing was perfection and he was a really nice guy too.. I've seen some of the comedies, but I'm going to make a point of watching EVERYTHING I can now..

There was a radio personality I listened to when I was in grade school. He did the overnight show between midnight and 6AM. Between 3AM and 4AM he would play a comedy album, He had such people as Bill Cosby, Shelly Berman, The Bickersons, The Smothers Brothers and the Button Down mind of Bob Newhart. I can still remember his interview with Abner Doubleday, the inventor of the game of Baseball.
