Or would watch if you had to?
I watched Barbie and was very pleasantly surprised.
From the cheeky branding to the messages and themes, from the diverse cast to the insane history of actual Barbie products, to the deliberately vague and - to cis men - confusing ending. It was a very well made film which had me alternating between tears of recognition, belly laughs, and courageous empathy.
It was also star studded in unexpected ways. Did not expect that Helen Mirren or John Cena cameos - or the unexpected role of Alan.
Oppenheimer, while doubtless beautiful, basically glorifies and makes entertainment of a global tragedy and the thrusting of the world into a era of destruction with the Atomic Bomb.
I don't watch war movies about irl war and how the fuck could I trust Hollywood/DoD censorship with a truthful or tasteful handling of the invention and use of the atomic bomb? That's just fucking Americentric propaganda with good cinematography.

I watched Barbie. I’d like to also watch Oppenheimer, but I don’t know if I’ll get an opportunity as far as theaters.
