Probably in the minority here, but I didn't care for Ahsoka at all early on, and it wasn't until the last couple seasons of clone wars when I thought she actually became a decent character. They really screwed the pooch by not killing her off at the hands of either Vader or the clones, and so therefore her "sequel era" interpretation shouldn't exist. Even ignoring the awful story arc though, her older portrayal is excessively stoic and bland, when she should really be more like Anakin if he never fell to the dark side.
What the hell dude. That would be extremely tragic and unneccessary to kill her off by Vader or the clones, she fought by side by side by Anakin and the clones since she was like 14, not only that but also she was a side character and not a fully proper protaganist yet. She hasn't been allowed to be a full proper actual protaganist until recently when she got her own TV show. She was relegetated to being a side character basicaly until ahsoka tv series.
Her being alive undermines the idea that Luke (or Leia) were the only ones who could feasibly save Vader from the dark side at the time of the original trilogy. This was even reinforced at the end of Clone Wars when Vader's eyes turn a fiery color when he finds what he thinks are her remains at the Venator crash site. Ahsoka should be a tragic character (and was for a while), but she's Dave Filoni's favorite creation, so instead he's using her to rewrite/plagiarize expanded universe content.
Also, no way in hell you can possibly argue that she was only a side character until now. She had about as much screentime as Anakin in clone wars, and her existence was basically the focal point of the animated movie that kicked off the series.
I don't necessarily agree with that. She was hiz little buddy for sure, his padawan, but at the same time he not just gonna turn into good guy again or not try kill her just because she has sens the good in him. and she is not strong connection to padme neccesasarily biologically like Luke. He is strong in the dark side at this moment. He is trying to forget his past life as Anakin Skywalker. when he turned bad he was trying to kill his friend and former comrade and he was gona kill ahsoka an he may have had a soft spot for her bt at the same time he is just gonna kill her anyway and he may jus have a ky ren/ben solo moment where t jus make him weaker and split his spirit
this is early in his bad guy life, so he is gonna try to over compensate and shove his good guy self back down more. but when he is a seasoned bad guy for awhile, he will be more true and be like yeah im gonna listen to my son more this is kinda ridicilous im gonna do what i need to do and bring balance to force nad be my true self for real
Difficult to say!
We had a lot more time with Clone Wars Ahsoka so it's easier to understand her character. Mandalorian era Ahsoka is a much different person and has been through a lot of stuff we haven't seen.
Having watched the first two episodes of the Ahsoka series I'm not sure I enjoy how calculated and cold she's been so far, but that could change as the series progresses!
thats what I dont like, why skip through her life, we need that time wehre she left the jedi order at like 18 and maybe even like a prologue where she's like a little girl or osmeting and is a youngling or padawan and that time after clone wars finale during the dark times when she's like 18 and 19 and then like young adult time period before she joins the rebels. we only see her in her thirties as a side character. we need her time as an individual character in her young life, not just a side character to anakin or ezra
Well we kinda had the younger stuff with Tales of the Jedi. And a little bit of post-Clone Wars pre-Rebels.
I get why they're doing it this way. They're trying to set up Thrawn and bring some closure to the end of Rebels. It's just not feeling quite right yet.
ya but it was just a little action scene and her time with Anakin helping her in that order 66 time action scene.
it was good though
but it disrupted her book canon which was the time in her life I like to see her 18 year old time in her life i wanna see that time in her life
I get that but I prefer to see things in order
Clone wars Ashoka. She was full of personallity, energy, and emotion.
This new iteration played by Rosario Dawson feels too stoic and reserved. Dawson is a great actor but she's not the right choice to play Ashoka.

I agree but I think that because she was young and teenager and in ashoka she kinda older
i think she gettig uptight in her old age. there's being stoic and being uptight. i think she should chillout over time.
i think her time with sabine may help her chill out and rejuvunate her youth.
