We have casinos where I live and recently they started sports betting. You can place a bet from your cell phone. They make it very easy and I wonder if there are people that gamble away their savings. You can answer anonymously.

+1 yI've gone to casinos a few times, but always set a limit that I was willing to spend and saw it as an evening of entertainment (like going to a carnival).
The only trouble I ever got into was at a blackjack table when I asked for another card and the guy next to me busted. He went into a rage blaming me for taking a card.
Anyhow, I've never tried any online gambling and I don't care for the digital machines casinos have nowdays. It feels like the odds of winning now belong to a software program.
I think I'll stick to the few lottery tickets I buy for stocking stuffers.

+1 yNever but I don't gamble very often cause I don't drive and too lazy to take the bus all the way to the casino. The biggest problem I ever had at any casino is when I ate spicy food at a restaurant while travelling back to my hotel in Las Vegas which was inside a casino and my family and I had diarrhea and were trying to do things legally as in pooping in a washroom and not on the walk way path that led to the washroom cause my mom and I had issues controlling our bladder since we had never eaten those types of peppers before.

+1 yI was JUST talking about this with my dad an hour or so ago. The accessibility of gambling is very worrisome to me. I’m not a gambler myself, but I feel like it used to be that you had to be close to Vegas or Atlantic City, or you had to know a bookie. I bet a lot of people who would’ve gambled didn’t, just because it was inaccessible to them. Now, like you said, you can do it from your phone. My hockey teammate is 19, and he just went to a big MMA event last weekend. He said he won $800 betting on the fights, via some phone app (probably a 21 year old friend’s account), and he bought Patriots tickets with the winnings. And that’s great, but I worry this young kid is just going to think he can go back to the well any time he wants hundreds of dollars. I hate to think of him blowing his rent money trying to make a quick score, but it’s really that easy to do.

+1 yNot interesting to me. I have visited a few casinos. The smoke is awful and never went back. The people sitting in front of the slot machines seem soulless.
I heard my belated grandfather was into gambling. We were not close. Our uncle used to ask us for money to help pay off the debt he accumulated from our grandfathers gambling addiction. It caused problems between my dad and my uncle.
there is a reason why the casinos look nice and not the ones who gambles. They know the mindset of the gamblers. Casinos always win. Because the gamblers allow their greed take over their logic.00 ReplyNope but I had once put my self into some serious debt over a pvp gaming app. Never played an app like it before and I was duped in before I knew it and within 6 months, thousands spent I managed to realize if I kept going it wouldn't be good. Needless to say I still talk to the players whose league I was in on discord but I don't regret leaving. I just regret getting duped in by a puzzle that wasn't the real game. I've actually heard people have taken out 2nd mortgages to keep playing the game. It's nuts!

+1 yNo, thank goodness. I rarely buy lottery tickets anymore either.
The ads for poker/casino apps and single game sports betting are out of hand here, in my opinion. And the commercials are obviously shown during sports games where many children are watching - it bothers me that they are getting into kids heads like that. Sometimes they're also shown at other times of the day too, and on the radio, etc. Yet alcohol commercials can't be shown until 9 pm.
10 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Nope. I never got into gambling because I'm not that good at it and I hate wasting money. I've gambled a bit on sports, slots and at black jack. But I don't get much of a thrill from it.
Slots used to be way more fun when actual coins came out of the machines. When silver dollars dropped into the tray, that was a thrill. The sound was inspiring.10 Reply- 2.4K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic.
+1 yI rarely gamble. When I do, I have a fixed amount of money, typically $100 that I'm willing to gamble with. When that money is gone, I'm finished. I consider that the cost of the entertainment. It takes willpower and planning to not get caught up in schemes where you lose a lot of money. Unfortunately, not everyone can do that.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yNo. While I have a gambler's mentality I HATE losing. It's natural me to try to find an edge always. So if I'm losing too much I stop completely slam on the brakes and revisit my game plan. I honestly don't think I've ever been down more than a couple hundred dollars in my life. And the most I've ever won was 10k at any one time. So I wouldn't call myself a really successful gambler.
10 ReplyGambling is the activity of the bourgeois.. I don't understand how people can fall into such a trap with a little money they have..
20 ReplyI never got in trouble. I go in with a set amount and once it's gone or I'm done, i leave

+1 yI never did gambling , i play poker with fake money, and this kind of gambling has been around in over 10 years and it is as easy as 1.2.3 steps theough a phone app. I stay away from such things.
