He's a liberal douche. But he's still funny. He's not always wrong. He makes some good observations. His problem is his arrogance. At one time he was just a comic. But then he became political. He got a following and like anyone in his shoes it went to his head, it became his cash cow. Real time with Bill Maher is the same recipe every show. 1 conservative 2 liberals, Bill and a liberal audience. It's not that Bill couldn't debate a conservative straight up. But why would he damage his brand by going into a debate where he didn't have decided advantage of numbers. I've actually seen him berate an audience doing stand up for not always laughing at his jokes. So I really think at some point he realized he's more successful skewering the absurdity of politics (because it's an easy target. Look at Jon Liebowitz, aka Jon Stewart. He made a career of that) than he would ever being a successful comic.

My only real dislike of Bill, and it's not even a real dislike is his constant attack on religion. Because it's so silly. Why rail against something if you consider it a joke? Like I say I think Bill's downfall is his arrogance. He's built an echo chamber that he lives in now.

As long as he can give me a few chuckles though it's all good with me.

I remember when he USED TO BE funny! As of a few years ago, he's turned into a loony lefty that prefers to shit where he eats! Now, as of about a month ago, he seems to have pulled his head back out of his ass. Flavour of the day? Mmmmm, could be!
