I wonder if the hide a bed might be more comfortable for her.

It looks like a really uncomfortable position to sleep in. Boy, is she gonna have a krink in her back when she wakes up. And hopefully, she lives alone, or at best with a SO/girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/husband and they come home without any guests because I would not want to be found like that when others walk in, especially if it was people I don't know.

The couch also looks like it has the cushions in the wrong places, it looks as though the seat cushions are stood up and she is lying on the cushions that should be on the back of the couch. And does anyone else wonder... why didn't she pull out the bed and sleep on the bed that you can see?

That couch is ugly and the photo looks staged, not at all like an authentic photo of a person in the privacy of their home. I don't like the inauthentic claim.

Seeing this from a movie editor perspective this image is not working for me. To me the colors are off, it is flat and has no magic in it. So pictures from people in their home made by professional photographers can do better.

The image should scream.. I'm at home on my sofa and I feel save. Personally I would have here ware something like a dark color night gown to add more contrast..

If the whole book is with that type of photos.. I leave it in the shops.. 😄

The whole point is to emphasize natural feminine beauty. That’s what the author described, and she has good taste.

Its a photo. Big deal. If she was on her side facing either way or on her back, then that would be something to comment on.

But why have a book showing people's privacy photos. That should be the question. Not what the photo is of or shows.

I don't see how people are in the "privacy of their own homes" when they're being photographed by some stranger. Also the photograph looks very staged. If I'm judging it on composition and lighting it's fine, I guess.

The ugliness of the sofa draws even more attention than how skinny the woman is and how uncomfortably she's positioned. I don't like the photo very much, no matter how much reality it captures.

@Shamalien not everyone is you... Women are not naturally thin they are shaped for child bearing. A woman that thin modelling for a photographer is most likely anorexic.
