Does a "vampire kiss" kill you?

Based on what we know about vampire mythology, a vampire bites you, he/she kills you. But I'm asking about a kiss. If he/she instead, kisses you, does it kill you.

Hickeys, are essentially a person biting you, but still a "kiss". So, if a vampire decided to give you a hickey, id think youd die still, but, any other "kiss", I don't think so.

actually depends on the vampire lore you care to choose from.
Vampire diaries and a few others I know of (like the Kresley Cole books) require the vampire's blood in your system and then to die with it in your system.

In most vampire lore, a vampire's kiss won't kill you esepcially when thinking of Buffy The Vampire Slayer's vampire lore. Or Anne Rice's.
