I like CS Lewis:

My apologies - I knew it was one of the great scientists.

I have enormous respect for men like Newton and Einstein who were able to easily reconcile scientific knowledge and a belief in a Creator. I struggle with the arrogance of men like Dawkins who claim there cannot be any deity.

Maybe "struggle" is the wrong word. "Pity" is closer. Another quote of CS Lewis is:

"Consequently atheism turns out to be too simple. If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark." He wrote that in his book "Mere Christianity", published in 1952. I've studied theology almost 40 years and have yet to find a more profoundly intellectual Christian apologist than Lewis. He had a gift for explaining incredibly complex ideas in a way a child could come to understand them. I hope one day I can be just 10% as good at explaining my beliefs as he was.

Yup. Currently my simple explanation is:

"I'm someone God loved enough to die for in spite of my behaviour - but we're working on it together now. And He feels the same way about you!"

Can't summarise it more than that yet 😂

My Grandad was a preacher from age 16 until he passed away aged 80. He used to just say "I don't know what God sees in me, I'm just glad He sees it". I like that thought too.

It reminds me of the biggest blessing in my life, my family and my brother, who happens to be my better and a nobler version and the person who taught me how to live and love.

My love to them is my motivation in everything I do.

This quote also reminds me that it’s through the love that we find our soul and God.

Doesn’t matter what kind of love, if there’s something you LOVE more than you love yourself, you’ll always push yourself to do the unimaginable, because you’ve got LOVE as your fuel.
